Hi, I'm Nicole - Strawberry Monday,

Aside from being called owner & designer here, I am called wife, mom, artist, and vintage addict… I am also a singer/songwriter, baker and a cancer warrior (survivor).

I am a Minnesota girl, which is still my favorite place to find vintage, and have been in Arizona since 1990.  After being treated poorly in a local  children’s clothing resale shop,  Strawberry Monday was founded in 2002, with a desire to do better.

For the first 8 years in business, we were strictly a women and children’s online clothing resale shop. I spent countless hours searching high and low, for the best quality, pre-owned clothing items. Also, since hair flowers were so crazy popular, I learned how to make them- to incorporate some accessories into the shop.

After a few years in business, I am proud to say we were blessed to win some awards! We were awarded "Best Of The Valley" by Phoenix Magazine , "Best Children's Apparel" by Elite Magazine and featured on AZ Midday. I was also invited to be a judge at a Tropicana pageant and then many of the contestants did a HUGE photo shoot with Strawberry Monday--it was so much fun!

Eventually, Strawberry Monday moved into a brick-and-mortar shop and I was introduced to furniture restoration by a friend. I’ve always been creative and never really thought about painting anything other than walls. I was intrigued, painted a nightstand and then it sold…. That was it, I started painting everything...

After being successful with painted furniture, I learned how to make custom signs and literally painted an insane amount of  Mason jars--remember when that was crazy popular!? My painted Mason jars and signs were featured film props in Leeann and Michelle's popular parody video, "Look What Joanna Gaines Made Us Do" and I got to be a  "Jo Bot" in the video.

After closing up both of the brick-and-mortar stores, Strawberry Monday has participated in numerous markets and had permanent shop space at several local vintage shops. You may have found me at Covered Wagon, Front Porch, Highland, Junk In The Trunk, Junk Warehouse, Merchant Square, Michael Todd's Treasures, Peppermint Lane Boutique, Qcumberz, and Zinnas.

I love the hunt for vintage home décor and try to be very intentional with what is chosen for my own home and Strawberry Monday. I am mostly drawn to kitschy, colorful, floral and unique vintage pieces, typically 1940s-1970s.  I also have a rather large obsession of buying many vintage Pyrex bowls...cups...telephones...1980's Cabbage Patch Kids'... and...can you really have too many?

Staying home for days definitely makes me want to organize and beautify my space , so one

Currently, Strawberry Monday is going through changes and slowly re-launching our online shop.

The online shop is first a throwback to our beginning with women & children’s clothing resale, handmade hair flowers (you know they are coming back), earrings, stickers and positive word art. Yep, all made by us :)

We will of course be adding vintage items online as well as our new vintage hand prop rental shop and tiny gluten-free bakeshop. So excited for these new beginnings!

Thank you for stopping by and we hope to work with you soon!
